Chuck Jones is a famous animator who worked on cartoons such as Looney Tunes – Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Tom and Jerry at MGM. He won three Academy Awards for his work!
Charles Martin Jones was born September 21, 1912 and died February 22, 2002, he was an American animator, filmmaker, painter, and voice actor, best known for his work with Warner Bros. Cartoons on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of shorts. He wrote, produced, and directed many classic animated cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, Pepé Le Pew, Marvin the Martian, and Porky Pig, and others. Chuck Jones created over 300 films and shaped the “Golden Age” of animation.
Chuck Jones became an animation artist partly by accident, initially seeking work as an artist and finding opportunity in animation, but grew into the role due to his passion for drawing and storytelling. He entered the industry in 1931 as a cel washer and in-between animator for Ub Iwerks’ studio, enjoying the opportunity to work professionally, eventually becoming a legendary director and animator.
